In this ballet mashup between two classic holiday stories, The Grinch and The Nutcracker, you will follow Clara and Louisa Whosit as they go in search of the Grouch, who Clara believes has stolen her beloved Nutcracker Doll. They meet many characters along the way, but must go into battle in order to get the Nutcracker back. Will they succeed? Purchase your tickets to find out!!

The Witches of Oz

A blend of multiple versions of the classic tale, this ballet tells the story of how Dorothy, Toto and her three unlikely friends get caught in the middle of a feud between the Witches and Wizard of Oz. The production features the students of Hudson Youth Ballet, HBT’s professional dancers, and HBT’s new Adult Division. It is a perfect event for all ages!
Icarus

Icarus is loosely based on the Greek mythology of Icarus and his father, Daedalus. This version of the tale highlights the generational gap between immigrant parents, who struggled to survive, and their American born children, who are tasked with fulfilling the American Dream. The ballet challenges the notions of failure vs success and the burden of self-fulfillment vs familial hopes and responsibilities.

Diaspora: A Mother's Elegy

This original ballet follows the true story of a Hmong refugee and her internal family challenges set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War and immigration to the United States. Diaspora brings together three generations of Hmong American women's experiences through a journey of self discovery, sacrifice, and redemption.
Choreographed to a score by Antonin Dvorak, HBT Co-Director Ho-Shia Thao uses the classical language of ballet to narrate a new voice for American dance while highlighting universal challenges of American immigrants as they redefine their ideals of self, family, and community.

Alice in Wonderland

HBT's first venture into ballet on film was a success with the classic tale of The Nutcracker. Filmed during COVID, Hudson Ballet, Hudson Youth Ballet, City Center Dance and all faculty followed health and safety guidelines in order to make this filming possible.
